Initially, she took on the project to earn some extra pocket money, unaware of the significance of South Indian films. Despite her initial intentions, her performance in the film earned her critical acclaim. Subsequently, she returned to complete her degree and participated in the 2011 Femina Miss India pageant. At the pageant, she secured several titles including Pantaloons Femina Miss Fresh Face, Femina Miss Talented, Femina Miss Beautiful Smile, and Femina Miss Beautiful Eyes, in addition to the People's Choice Miss Indiatimes award.
